Pam's Delight A variety of apple first grown in Luton, Bedfordshire, England by Alfred Hull
An achievement that many amateur horticulturists strive to achieve for many years and never do; produce a new cultivar of fruit, was achieved by Alfred Hull in 1958 when he planted an apple seed in a pot in the bathroom window.
Named after Alfred's daughter Pamela, who died in 1964 at the age of 28, Pam's Delight was registered with the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food in October 1968 and appeared in the 1971 National Apple Register of the United Kingdom.
